Well, here I am in yet another hotel room; this one in Dallas, TX.
As some of you may know, I have been a professional pilot for 20 years and took a break from flying about two years ago. The break was planned to be a retirement of sorts, but since then (over the last year) I have been flying again for a local management and charter company. A couple of episodes of the Celtic Folk Podcast have been “on the road” and this is due to the fact that every once in a while I end up on a multi-day trip in the aircraft and have to produce the show from the hotel room!
These past two weeks have seen me on the road again, this time in Dallas completing what is called a Type Rating for a new aircraft. For those of you who may want to know what a Type Rating is, it’s basically a course of instruction on a jet or larger aircraft, culminating in a 2.5 hour simulator test. The course lasts just over two weeks.
What does all this mean? Well, for all our listeners and subscribers, it means a break in bringing you the latest Celtic Folk Podcast. But not to worry! We’ll be back next week with a full episode.
In the meantime, wish me luck, check out our past episodes and don’t forget to tell your friends about the Celtic Folk Podcast and send them a link to our home page.
Thanks,
Al.
